I have an attorney that has a small office with 3 computers. For some reason he replaced 3 PC's with laptops that he bought from Best Buy (Windows 11 Home). Today is the 3rd time I've had to reinstall print drivers and set up scan. Each time they tell me that they had computer problems and when they got them back the scan folder was gone and print wouldn't work.
Today the secretary told me that the "Geek Squad" had to clone the drives and nothing worked after that as far as printing & scanning.
I had no problem on the 2 of the laptops. But on the last one, I couldn't get scan to work for anything. The network was set to public. I changed to private. Network sharing is on. Scan folder was set up correctly. I dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. No dice.
My next step was to disable Windows Defender but I quickly saw that it errored out and wasn't active. I looked up the error code and it has something to do with a failed update. I told the customer to get it fixed and I'd be back after that.
I'm not sure that was the cause, though??!!
Anybody?
