    Kyocera FSC 5030 & FS 4000 Firmware

Hi, the company i work for has just taken on a contract for several of the above printers and reading through the posts i've noticed updating the firmware can solve many issues, so i've two questions. Firstly does someone know where i can get hold of the system & engine firmware files. Secondly can the updates be done via a usb stick and if so is it the same process as using a compact flash card?.

    Thanks in advance.

The 4000 firmware can be updated via USB drive as well as CF card, however the 5030 can only take CF. You can also update the firmware through the PC with a Parallel hookup. The only firmware fix for either of these printers that I have experienced is for the 4000 if it's throwing a C-0150 code.

      Thanks for the reply

I've noticed most of the FSC5030's I've looked at recently have firmware revisions from 2005. I'm familiar with the 0150 errors (relating to writing to the EEPROM chip, I use to look after several of these for a previous employer) I'm just hoping I don't get any until I can sort the firmware out, Kyocera won't let me have it.
      Thanks for the update
