TaskAlfa 3554ci weird bypass tray paper issue

We have two new TaskAlfa 3554ci machines. on first machine, when copying from adf to plain letter paper in bypass tray, it keeps saying to load paper. Press continue and paper feeds. Second machine, same setup, paper feeds automatically from bypass tray. Any ideas?

Are you setting the bypass tray for the target paper or original paper? It usually beeps from the Bypass/MP when it doesnt detect that the right size/media is matching. After hitting continue was there any issues with the image quality?
