    FS-C1020MFPOS

So we got our first FS-C1020MFP today and let me tell you I wasn't expecting much. On paper it looks horrible. The supplies and spare parts are marked up sky high, probably worse than Panasonic or Kip has ever done. First monochrome copy 15 seconds, color 30 seconds?!? But putting aside all of that, it's not right to judge. But maybe its performance will outdo it self, I thought. I couldn't have been more wrong!!

So I'm testing it out and VERY FIRST COPY, B & W is extremely light. I shook the black toner cart a little more. Still very light. After some diagnosing I found out that this machine is SCANNING in B & W light. Color looks OK. Internal prints and B & W prints from PC come out fine. But B & W copies and scans to PC are VERY VERY LIGHT. So I called tech support and expected them to give me that "We have no idea what you are talking about, update the firmware" hoopla. So after a short hold period they told me that they will be send me a new one. I thought they were backordered?!? We had to get ours from a distributor since these have been backordered from KMA for weeks now. Apparently all the units that KMA has in stock, they have been shipping as replacements because apparently this has been a common problem. Nice of them you tell us, huh? So just a warning to those who are in the process of selling these machines. If the B & W copies and scans are really light, then you're not alone.

Has anybody had any good experiences with these? In its defense, the scan to pc is a lot less complicated than the 1820 or 2050. That's the only good thing I have to say about that.

We have sold 4 of them, all of them are very light when copying b\w have been told by Kyocera that is normal for this machine . We will not be selling any more.
We will be selling the Konica Minolta bizhub C20 instead.

Two things you can do. Set the default density setting one postion higher in the Menu. Of set the default image type to Text.
