KM-4050 Tray 2 Auto Duplex

We have a unit out in the field that will automatically duplex any job from tray 2. It will do it when copying, printing and internal test pages.

Have updated firmware, removed all optional extras, tried it from tech laptop, USB connection and it still does it.

Does anyone know where a setting might be to stop this happening?

This only occurs with Tray 2? I suspect that duplex has been set to on under the systems defaults. It probably appears to only happen from Tray 2 because it has the proper paper size. There is no setting within the machine/print driver that mandates a specific paper drawer always duplexes.

Yeah that's what I thought too. I've double checked those settings against service manual and Aussie product support. They're set right.

The setting I was referring to is under the user settings, not the service settings. Our state government here has mandated that all machines print/copy on both sides. We accomplished this in the user settings. You may want to check what your customer changed. Even in the factory setup mode (different code than 1087) I do not recall anything that would allow you to make a setting for always duplexing from a specific tray. I will have one of the techs try it tomorrow and let you know.
