SRDF-2 Noise after last page fed in doc feeder

Should be an easy one, but I cant figure it out!

Working on a KM-3530 with an SRDF-2. The document feeder makes a noise after the last page is fed about 40% of the time. It's been like this for months, no problems feeding or jamming, just noise.

Noise lasts about 2-3 seconds then stops on its own. Wish i could describe the noise, but its pretty impossible with typing Feed, Seperation, and Pickup rollers have been replaced.

I'm thinking clutch, what are you thinking? Any ideas? THANK YOU!!!

Take your rear and front cover off and run the non adf simulation for the document feeder I beilieve it is in the 200's. It could be your reverse clutch but you can watch and verify.

Ok I'll try that tomorrow. The noise seems to be coming right where the rollers are.. and not the actual motor section in the back. I could be wrong though.

Thank you so much for the advice

Check the black Friction Pad right underneath the Forwarding Roller. It gets worn down pretty quickly and can cause a noise or even jamming when feeding only feeding a single sheet as opposed to multiples.

have you tried replacing the motor?if you did and there still that annoying sound, its odd but this unusual sound maybe from the controller board of SRDF2. this prob is related to the motor, wrong signal causes the motor to go wild and creates the sound although this will feed nicely. i have encounter such unusual sound and i fixed it by replacing this board.

          hope this helps. good luck!

Does this have updated sep arms? Try another sep assembly to eliminate that.

Do you have any info on the update seperation arms? I'm new to KM machines so there are lots of hardware improvements that I'm not familiar with. Can you please give me the part number?

                3BC07072 for sep arm.

New style have complete round hole which slides over shaft. Old style has 3/4 hole which can snap on shaft. easy to check. Just pull out sep assy and turn it around, check where sep arms attach to assy.

originals sensor on top next to pickup pulley, the spring for the actuator has to be on top, actuator does not drop down fast enough.

^^^^^^^ he is right i have had this happen several times. the actuator doesnt go down after last page is feed and it trys to feed again and the noise is the feed roller on the rubber pad on the lift plate.

Just had the exact same thing on a 4030 and that was it.
