    KM6030 (utax 1060)

122k on this machine and we got c4200, did what was suggested in the tech bulletin, no help really. On the odd occassion the machine does come on without the code there are vertical stripes on the copy almost like a barcode. Have changed laser, hdd, main and engine board- any ideas please.

        C4200

I fought this recently on a 6030 also...It was caused by the transfer belt unit...It started after I pm'd the machine. I put the old main charger back in first, since I've seen this on falcon series.no luck...After I did some forever research, I came across a Q & A post on manufacters web site and found a spacer/shim kit for this same code. Ordered one, put it in and C4200 went away...Try swapping the transfer section. If that doesn't work, I'd definately replace laser unit..

Put a ferrite core around the laser unit harness, replaced HDD and back dated the firmware and it's been working fine now for the last week. That issue with the transfer section brass bushing creating 'noise' was mentioned by Utax tech aswell so it's definately one to watch for, thanks anyway for the input.
