    KMC2230 (BHC350) no fiery Icon

I am having trouble getting this unit to see the fiery. The green light is
on steady and the yellow light flashes for a short time after power on.
The other day I was able to get an Icon on the control panel and under
utilities. Both would display a message that the system was booting up.
    Then nothing.
Last time I saw this unit no Icons. I went through what I had done the
    last time, but nothing.
I am not familiar with fierys, usually I just plug it in and the machine finds
    it.
    Am I missing something?

    Thanks

I take it it's an X3e. Those have the small laptop hd's in them. After about 2 years (maybe longer) the hd's usually go out. They are 6 gig hd's usually. Sometimes 10. I think I've manage to pop a 20 in it and it worked. You'll have to put the new image on it though.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

      Yes,
RRodgers it is an X3E fiery. I will have to go back and see what size the
HDD in this unit is. I have never had to re-flash the image on any
machine. So I will need step by step directions. Is it possible to get
an image off that HDD, or it that one toast?

      Thanks

You "MIGHT" be able to pull it out and "ghost" it. That might be easier than putting a new image on it. You can image it but you need a PC (or laptop) with a parallel port on it. The IEEE software REALLY speeds up the flashing process, you can do it without it but it will take at least 45 mins to send the files over rather than the 10~15 mins with the IEEE software.

Plus you'll need the image. Which is at least a 400 meg ISO (if I remember correctly)

          RRodgers,
I can see that I need to get a lap top with an LPT1 port. Actually I have
one but I back over it enough with my jeep that the screen is cracked.
Maybe I can get it fixed.
I think I can stop by and try some setting changes someone mentioned.

          More later
          Thanks
