Anyone know how to tell the DC1856 the Key Counter has been removed? The machine was donated but the key counter was damaged in transport.

    Thanks

I don't understand your question, but IIRC there is a jumper behind the key counter hole to bypass the system.
I know what I know better than anyone else knows what I know.

So you would suggest figuring out how to reconnect the key counter to the machine, then bypass the counter with the jumper inside the key counter housing?

Service mode did not provide any way to turn off the key counter. The machine sits there with u1 flashing meaning the key counter is not installed correctly. The counter was damaged badly when the machine was moved so getting it installed again is going to be almost impossible. We may have to chalk this one up as a loss and have the customer scrap the machine.

      Thanks for your quick reply.

unplug the key counter and plug in the jumper that came with the copier originally. it may still be inside the machine in the area of the key counter.

Gotcha. I was afraid that was what the procedure would be. Donated machine doesn't have the jumper. We can probably locate one pretty easily though.

          Thanks for the help.
