Remove all the paper from the left side of the PF, leaving paper in the right side, when the lift motors have lifted all the way, the pf then automatically feeds paper to the left side, if this clip is cracked or broken you will hear a grinding noise.

When you pull out the feed ass'y from the PF 650, check to see if the black plastic clip is ok, the clip holds a clutch in place and you will find it on the left side of the unit, there is normally a silver earthing strip running underneath this clip. I know, there are a few clutches, but I think its the third one , counting from left to right.

This clip forms part of the feed ass'y housing. I have found cable ties to work great.
