When I make copies or prints from the copier, I get a banding on the back of the paper... below is an example... I have changed the fuser, the developer, the transfer assembly and have begun messing with sim mode 101... with varying degrees of success... anybody has any ideas...

km 4035/30 copyquality issue... banding on the back of copies...
Originally posted by JtheCopyGuySince it's on the back of the paper I'd check the transfer belt/roller and perhaps the fuser.
changed developing unit... the banding became very light... put back old developing unit... issue came back...
when making copies... some copies will have no banding while others will have banding to various degrees...
anyone faced this issue before... ???
how did you finally fix it... ??Sad To Say I Don't Have a Life

Does this machine run aftermarket toner? From the picture, it looks like the developing unit is dusting and creating a build-up on the transfer roller and possibly the transport section guides. Since the dev unit and trasfer section has been replaced, It might be a good idea to start looking at the HV PCB.But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

It's not really a test, but if you look at the drum (provided it hasn't been recently cleaned) and see little white marks all over it then the toner may be contributing to a dusting problem. The white marks are actually wax particles. Lower quality aftermarket toner uses this stuff as a lubricant. The problem is that it cakes up in the developing unit, on the drum and in the fuser, thus causing all kinds of problems. But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

never
never use after market toner on these units I tried it for approx a year and had premature drum/dv's wear out so I never saved anything.. as well as issues that your seeing. I would also update firmware as this also helps with this problem when it shows up with OEM tonerComment
