TaskAlfa 250ci - excess waste toner usage?

Hi All,

I got a client who has done about 8.5K colour and 6K b&w prints and they have informed that they have gone through 4 waste toner bottles with the 5th one currently in the machine.

I have seen some of the documents they print and it doesnt have much graphics or photographs.

Any ideas on what i can do? I do think it is a bit excessive in terms of waste toner bottle usage. thanks

you could always stick it in eco mode - uses less toner, also the cartridge is based on 5% coverage which isn't a lot so if their doing photos if could be using more toner and more waste. Is is set for auto or manual exposure on default? On the old km-c machines there was a function to print out what the toner coverage is, i'd have a look at that it might give you an idea of what they really print. I had a customer complaining saying they were putting in a full set of colours a week so i checked the toner use and it worked out correctly as they were printing up to 70% coverage.

black for 20000 pages at 5 % coverage (A4)
cyan, yellow, magenta for 12000 pages at 5 % coverage (A4)

also check the firmware as i think these had a few problems with toner issues and copy quality.
