I have a Konica 8031 good running machine and the only problem is that the background in auto or full color mode is a pink color. Black color is ok and all of the monotone colors are fine. I have examined all the units and do not see any problems. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

Clean the optics and recalibrate it. Also, there use to be a problem with ALL YELLOW background when the cable from the scanner to the main engine would get a bent pin (just for giggles double check that) Run a reset and stablize as well.
HTH and let us know.
**EDIT**
I'm not sure if you are a tech or not but a REALLY GOOD RULE TO LIVE BY IS never plug anything in or unplug anything when the power is on. So... shut the box down and then check the cable. Best to unplug it if ya can as well. If ya have a Fiery on the box, be sure to tell it to shut down first as well.Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

The optics are clean and I have even used another scanner with cables and it does not change it one bit. I am currently going through the service manual and trying to figure it out. Book says it could be a bad or dirty AIDC sensor. Looking into that and will update if I get it fixed. Thanks. When I print out a PS test sheet from utility controller it has pink background. This problem is only when full or auto color is selected. Any single color is fine and in tech rep mode the print outs are fine in all of the test modes of single units. I will fix it. That is what I do. I love a good challenge, but sometimes my timeframe is not in my favor. This is my machine in my own shop. Yes I am a tech for 41 years. Not the experience that i need on this series yet, but will get there. I run my own copy shop as well as a copier sales and service business. Good money in copy shop. I am using these color machines for this and also sell them. Am interested in buying a few more KM-C3130's of Konica 8031's. I could ramble all day but must get to work. Nice day wishes to all!!!Comment

I fixed the problem and now have a good working copier. I exchanged the image control board out of a km-c3130 and it works good. This is the board that all the cables plug into. Real easy fix-just a few screws and pull it out and slide the other one back in. I will deal with the bad board another time. How I found it was in tech rep mode under memory ir test and it was ok, but when I went to memory test on prt it showed up NG. Be seeing you later. Thanks for your help!Comment
