This may be a bit unrelated to copiers but would support that you need to remove the U3 from the Cruzer drives. I have a 4GB that I use for storing firmware files and use it for machines that update firmware via USB, F3, TA, etc. I remember I REMOVED the U3 months ago and has worked fine. Recently I purchased a 16GB Cruzer because my car radio takes USB drives for music. When I started it up in my computer I chose the option for "Storage Only" and even formatted it in my computer. When I put it in my radio it didn't see any files on it. Same MP3 on my 4 gig, works. I downloaded a U3 Removal Program from San Disk's website and it removed the U3. After that, it worked great. My point is that my radio and more likely any copier that reads USB drives, will see the U3 partition first and will come up with an error. It needs to me removed. It's pointless anyway.

to get this back again: could the pdf-files be generated wrongly by some non-adobe plug in or even non-adobe pdf creator? you said the files still made the 400ci go into j80 even if run from computer, so the usb drive is clearly not the problem hereComment

from what i witnessed the usb stick was probably not the problem it probably was just reading the wrong partition...as far as the jam goes it had to of been file related because it was the only pdf doing it. other pdfs would be fine printing. im not sure on how it was created because we were in the middle of a demo for the machine and they brought the pdf's in to see how it would look. at the time i didnt think of asking for a copy of it just due to the fact i was scrambling to try to figure it out real quick....Comment
