Kyocera FS2020D - Toner Empty, has full toner

    Good Day All

I have several Kyocera FS2020D machines out in the field that comes up with the "Toner Empty" message, but they all have a lot of toner left. Even when replacing the toner conatiner, whether it is empty or not, does not solve this problem. It will work for a couple of prints, but then the problem comes up again.

I've checked the bulletins but there is no mention of this problem. I haven't tried a firmware upgrade as yet, but i cant say for sure if this will work as there is no mention of this problem being solved by a firmware upgrade in the bulletins.

Please, if anybody can help I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ya
I have not had this as yet but you can check a couple things if you have not done so yet.
turn off the m/c remove the toner cartridge from the dev unit turn the m/c on and cheat the top
cover switch. You can then see if the toner motor is turning ok. Also open the slider where the toner drops in to the dev unit and see if there is toner there. if not run the developer from the service menu and then re-check. Possible duff dev unit so if you have a spare to use as a tester try that. F/W all ways good but i would look at the mechanical side first.
