    taskalpha 520 mailbox problem

    I'm getting a message that states "mailbox tray 1-7 cannot be used due to failure". No further info or definition, & wondering if anyone has seen this or has any idea what it might be...

    When the finisher door is opened & closed, the mailbox unit doesnt cycle like it used to.

      I'd check for a hidden mystery jam and maybe make sure everything is set to home position and then see if you get an error.

          Figured it out...function reset (u-906) wouldn't work until we flashed the firmware. Worked with new firmware.

          Speaking of firmware, the newest firmware version removes the ability to select face up or face down output. Wish I had known that beforehand. Customer is not too happy (with their now effectively slower machine).

              Are you sure you have the latest firmware and I don't believe there is a version that would block out U906. And I certainly don't think it would remove a feature like that.

              I think the latest version is 5.

                  420i/520i Main Frame Firmware Upgrade Pack Ver. 6.01

                  There is also another tech release about C1400 code and coresponding upgraded parts to use for that problem.
