    Copystar 3035 with black copies

    first of all i am not to familiar with Copystar....here's what i have, a cs 3035 with intermittent black copies...when the copies come out black i can hear a high pitch sound....sounds like the main charge unit or main charge corona. am i on the right track...please help..thanks in advance

    Sounds like the main charge grid may be arcing. I'd replace it before it ruins the drum (if it hasn't already).

      If you make a copy where it doesn't arc see if you can see little flea specks on the page. If so it has arced to the drum and pitted it and you will have to replace the drum.

      If not I sometime get away with just replacing the grid(2BL10070).
