Has anyone solved the problem of toner smearing on printed documents when they are sent throught the mail? We have always had problems with Copystar machines when the documents are folded and sent through the mail. We have tried different types of paper and changed paper type settings, to no avail. When the documents are sent through the mail, the toner smears down the page or leaves a faint image on the back of the next page, as if the toner isn't properly fused, but you can usually rub it with your finger before mailing and it seems fine. Envelopes have the same problem. Has anyone solved this problem? We especially have problems with nicer papers, such as letterhead. Samsung MFP's do this, too. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank You.

I would walk away from this one. Once you start trying to troubleshoot future copy quality once it goes through a totally different type of machine, you are asking for trouble. You have no control over what those mail sorting machines do to the paper. If you start trying to "fix" an issue that has absolutely nothing to do with the copier, then you are going to responsible for all kinds of ridiculous things in the customer's eyes. Just walk away...But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

Well, the only thing I can think of, Make sure the propper Media type is set for the tray, this setting is not just for the Used to know what you have in the tray, it also compensates for temperature on the Fuser Unit, and I think for tension on some of the transport rollers.Comment
