    add paper

    Hi

Got an 1128mfp, on occasion showing add paper, even when it's full, the customer has to turn the machine off/on to clear and they use their faxes, then they have to use the by-pass.

    Any Ideas

Sorry Paul, we are a kyocera Dealer, got the manuals, struggling with this fault though, changed the paper tray to see if that helped, I can't see any firmeare update that mentions it

sounds to me like there printing a page that is not of the correct size, thats why its asking for the bypass tray. if they are printing from a program there is a scaling drop down that you can tell the driver to scale to letter and if your print normally tell the drive to pull from tray 1 not auto source select and that should solve your problem.

Hi! what's the main use of this unit? Do the jam happen in every mode?

This only seem to happen on faxes, which is the main use of the machine.

Actually you have given me an Idea, every time we send an enginner we get no fault, and there is never anyone around to speak to, its a freight office, I am going to book an appointment to see the main user

I've seen something similar, but it was a 1028. the flag of paper sensor gripped itself in the upper position. But this is obviously a thing that a tech can see in a minute...

                    Hi, daveyball.
i had a fs-1300 doing the same thing, when i got it in the workshop it was fine then after a couple of trays in/out it asked for paper even though it was near full. what i found was the spring for the paper sensor was out of position so sensor worked ok if you moved it by hand but on occasion it would stick down into the paper in the tray and so add paper would appear. i found this out by looking from the back of the m/c.
                    hope this helps

had to trouble shoot the same prob when i was still doing my training .the senior tech would come create a prob on machine and we would have to fix it ...as madas said ,they just clipped of/out the paper sensor spring...

I had identical problem as you described bu the difference is that it was on ta250 ci. All worked fine but when fax should be printed machine says add paper. Anyway the problem was that it had fixed a4 size from first drawer , when i changed it to automatic after that all worked fine. You should probably check what paper size is set on machine from drawer.
