some one has locked color mode? I know there is a way to restrict use.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." [Samuel Adams]
Either your job accounting settings are set not to allow you to do color or if your not using accounting check toner, there is a setting in the machine to only allow B/W when color toner is out.
Print out a status page to see toner levels, there is an option to copy in black and white only when colour is out. Otherwise check your default settings
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
The default is in full color. When you print or copy a document you get only black & white document not in color.
Any Idea?
did you find a solution to this problem? I have the same issue and can't find a way of restricting other than Job Accounting and that gives a different message
All that does is reset the percentage of toner that the machine indicates, i bet one of the color toners is near empty(usually yellow), the machine is set to allow copies in b/w when color toner out. These machines are known for false toner level readings, usually indicating 70% after customer has removed toner, shook it and reinstalled.
