NG means literally No Good. It could be a line fault, or a configuration issue. In the UK and Ireland lots of customers forget to dial 9 or 0 to obtain an outside line, this results in TX failure.

Do you have the fax set up as your default printer ? Have you configured the lan fax setup correctly.
