Has anybody else had this code on their Smartech machine? It basically locks the machine up when it happens. No reset unless you just power off and on.

I got the same problem. The error occures often after transporting the System. There is no description in the service manual about it. I found out, that the problem is in the bridge unit (AK470).
After removing and installing it for a few times the error C8990 disappeared and now the system is running since a couple of weeks.
