    scanning

i have a km 1820. I had it set up to scan to my windows 7 pc. Now it wont work at all. I have set this up before numerous times and have never really had an issue except for vista. Any ideas or is there a different way of setting this up now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Details on where the problem occurs would be great. Do you get send error? I have found that with Vista, and especially Win 7, they are very particular about network security. Check Homegroup sharing options under the Network and Sharing Center. Make sure that the network users are allowed to read/write files to the public folder. (Public folder sharing must be turned on, of course) On Win 7, I absolutely have to place the network scan folder in the public directory, or it will not scan. Also, make sure that for the folder itself, you check the security to ensure that "Everyone" & your particular login user have full access to that folder.

That's a connection error, so if you are scanning to your IP, make sure it hasn't changed. If you are scanning to your host name, check your DNS settings. I have had a few computers that will only receive scans with IP settings, not host name. Not sure why that is.
