[Misc] KM-C4035E Scan to PC Issue

I have a KM-C4035E at a site with five new HP desktops attached running Win7 Pro 65 Bit. I am trying to scan from Kyocera to desktops. It is intermittent in results. Sometimes it will work while others it displays on the Kyocera display -

We have disabled virus software/firewall as well as put a static ip address on the desktops.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: KM-C4035E Scan to PC Issue

Windows 7 seems to be so back and forth on whether it wants to work but someone had posted this

"In my experience, Win7 hates Kyocera, it hates SMB, I've discovered that Win7 hates me personally, and in all likelihood, it hates you as well.

My biggest problems with scanning in Win7 have to do with sharing permissions on the destination folder, and the security on the LAN. I have had many problems making scanning work on this OS, so here is the setup procedure that I have come to follow religiously:

-Always place the destination folder in the "Public" directory
-Share the folder directly, don't use a path such as "Public\Scans", just share the "Scans" folder.
-Open the permissions up on this folder as generously as can be allowed. Allow full control for "Everyone", and also for the primary user account.
-In the Network & Sharing Center, under Homegroup Sharing Options, set the following,
    -Turn on Network Discovery
    -Turn on File Sharing
-Turn on Public Folder Sharing ("so anyone with network access can open, change, and create files")
-Turn on Password Protected Sharing (in at least one case, I have had to turn this off for a user that did not have a password protected account)
**edit** I am looking at a Vista workstation, so the wording may be slightly different **

If it is still really slow, try temporarily disabling Live One, Security Essentials, Norton, AVG, or any other security they may have enabled, and test scanning speed for any perceivable changes.

After that, if you ask really nice, and whisper sweet nothings to Win7, it may be kind enough to allow your scans to pass through unchallenged, though I cannot guarantee anything."

I don't remember who posted it and where please forgive me for not giving you credit.....but I made sure to cut and paste and keep me a copy lol

        Use the "shared name"

if the folder path is c:\program files\steam\apps\team fortress2\scans

and the name is set to "scans"

then in command centre, the path only need to be "scans"

of course, I hate win 7 as well, what works with XP and Vista doesnt work with 7 sometimes. havent got time to find out why.

yes i would check to see if when you installed scanner file utility did you install as a service. If not installed as a service it shuts down by itself. Also check the firewall settings for the exception of the scanner file program.
