[Misc] Print Problem in server 2008 r2 standard version with kyocera mita task alfa 180

    Dear all

Facing slow printing problem with Task Alfa 180 with Print system Z.Customer has server client network environment and server is window 2008 R-2 standard.Clients are only mirror of server.

While printing with USB and Print server both, prints come very slow at list it will take one minute minimum and 20-30 minute max. I tried all driver available on web( GX,PCL universal driver).

One observation is that when we fire a test print on driver properties it will show not responding. Similarly timing for two test pages are very much different.

From server when fire print with PCL driver it was not print on M/C but shows print sent from server.

I feel the driver capability is issue. Please confirm me that driver for Window server 2008 and window 2008 R-2 are same.

Hope this helps. Try to switch on machine in printer properties network emulation to AUTO(KPDL) with alternative PCL6. USE KX_DRIVER!!! and setup on 2008 R2 these properties in device settings :

          Hi all,

excuse me for reopening an old post. I have the same problems (Taskalfa 180 and WinSrv 2008 R2 slow printing), the KX_Driver is available for Taskalfa 181 ..... Can i use this driver for 180?

Are there other solutions for these problems?

          Thk

          Charlie

A couple of possibilities... but first lets confirm the problem...
(must have laptop handy for testing)
try creating a simple network with a router and a couple of network cables and the printer and check the speed...

also try printing from usb if the machine has that option...

see if it is the machine or the network...

if its the machine... then its time to call tech support...

now if the machine runs good prints creat... 100 pages and so on at a stretch no problems... then you have to consider that the server is giving you problems...

distance matters... I once had a situation where the machine was in florida and the server was in oklahoma... and it took forever to print... the only way we solved it was to use an older hp driver already installed and moving at speed on the machine... for some reason hp drivers don't have this problem... in any case back to the fix... kyocera was replacing an hp... we just changed the ip address to the kyocera and tested it and that was it...

in another situation... I had to turn on spooling and find a compatible gdi driver or gdi compatible mode... gdi driver makes the copier the brawn and the computer the brains... that worked like a charm...

in another situation... I had to prove to it that the server was the problem... I installed a print driver on a local machine and it ran like a champ.... installed on the server and it crawled...

its also possible that the driver is just too big... this one sounds stupid... but if you insall the kx driver it sometimes causes issues on servers... sometimes better to just install the basic pcl driver...

            no one scenario fits all

              Thank to n25an for reply,

the printer is installed on a client "Win7 64bit" with usb port and shared on the local net where is locate the Win2008R2 server.

I want to install basic pcl drivers but do not know where to find them.

At this moment i have installed these TASKalfa 180 Driver Download Center | Documentazione e Download Center | Service Area / Assistenza | KYOCERA Document Solutions but are very slows.

              Thk.

                italian site...

my advice... ok... your model is a black and white machine... an incompatible driver will at worst not print or give print gibberish... never had that issue with mixing and matching kyocera drivers.... so here's my advice... play around with the whql drivers... the pcl drivers and kpdl drivers... make sure and have the kyocera deleter utility handy... but be careful with it... it deletes a lot of stuff... now where to get the pcl, kpdl and or whql... try those drivers for the km 5050 series and km 3060 series... make sure and use the 64bit versions... I checked the american site... for kyocera...

                  PrintingSystem(Z) is GDI only.
