c0640 hdd formating not working!!!

how do you format the taskalfa 300i hdd with a pc???
fat fat32 or ntfs or none of the above???
hdd works on my pc, ive formated it and i can see it etc.
the 300i keeps giving me c0640
u24 not working u906 nothing u21 nothing
no joy from this machine!!!!

I don't know how to format it on a PC, but have you tried a different HDD in the machine? If that doesn't work, you may have a bad cable or even the main pcb.

I put it in another machine ran U24 and now the code is gone! Now when I start it got a F18A code and firmware won't load! - its a new main board!!

formating should be done by the machine.h

If you had swap the main pwb, did you swap the eeprom as well?

The eeprom is associated with component serial #'s.

Yes I am using the original eeprom in the new board

The error code list gives CF18A as "firmware incompatible."
