    first copystar CS255c install

my first setup and the finisher works but i can't select staple mode from panel or from print driver. is there somewhere that i need to tell the machine that it has stapling installed. it doesn't say anywhere but do i need to upgrade the memory? i thought it would auto recognize and the offset sorting works.

what do i have to do to get the machine to recognize stapling?

i found the staple button hidden in the functions button. it takes 5 key strokes to select staple.
the print driver for staple is grey'd out. when you hover the mouse over it a message says there is conflict in the basic tab in the destination selection. i only have two selections in the destination drop down: separator tray and inner tray. the machine does not like those trays for stapling.

    what next?

Does the finisher initialize when powered on? Did you update to the latest firmware. I know we had some issues with the finishers on this model when they were first realised and there was a firmware that solved the issue. I believe it was jamming for us tho.

i updated the firmware. the machine works in copy mode (i just couldn't find the staple button because it's not in the finishing menu)

just can't select staple from the print driver. it is grey'd out. tried it on two computers.

You have to inform the print driver of the installed options. Right click the printer. Go to properties. Click the device settings and auto-configure.
