Re: Step by step on changing format to a fat file so machine can read it on flash dri

Whenever I have had to format a flashdrive for such a thing, I do the following steps..
-- Insert flash drive into your P.C.
-- Click on "my computer" or the equivelent to see the flashdrive Icon..
-- Right click on the icon and select "Format"..
-- On the window that pops up, you will see a little section titled "file system"..
-- Click the drop down arrow on right side of the little section..
-- Select "Fat" from the list of options
-- Then at the bottom of the format window, click "Start"..
-- This will format the flashdrive and clear out all info on it.. It will then be formatted in a "Fat" format..
-- Paste your desired firmware file into the flash drive..
    -- That's it..

** Side Note** -- If you are performing a firmware upgrade on a Copystar / Kyocera machine as I suspect you may be, when you
paste the firmware file into the flash drive, you have to put the firmware into the "root" of the flash drive.. Meaning that you must open
the firmware file to see all it's contents and then copy & paste those contents into the flash drive.. If you were to just paste the folder
containing the firmware file into the flashdrive, the machine would still not be able to read it..

    Hope this helps.. Good Luck

if you have other machine of the same model, format the flash drive from the machine.
