      The KM1820 is a good desktop machine. I have found it very reliable and not that hard to work on. I have one of these machines at home. I don't know anything about the KM2810.

          KM-2810 = FS-1028. Nice upgrade to the KM-1820. A bit faster, duplex capability, separate drum and developer units. As mentioned, duplex is the best enhancement, but also with SMB scanning you can actually save the username and password in the machine itself as opposed to the 1820 where you would be prompted to enter it everytime you would scan. My major pet peeve is that the fuser is a pain in the ass to remove. The wiring harnesses are buried behind covers. The document feeder shaft doesn't come out as easily as removing one plastic clip like on the 1820.
