There's also a bulletin out for this problem. If the exposure lamp is OK, it might be the main PWB. There's a transistor on the Main PWB that can cause the CCD to stop functioning and displaying C3200. Had this last week with an FS-C8025, but this SB also applies to the FS-6025.

This is common trouble in this model. Try to replace the main board (the one with network interface) then you need to run "004" to match serial. After replacing board you need to update firmware in order to use scan to SMB.

Regarding the fault on these boards, does anyone know what component causes the problem or if it is possible to repair the board?

It appears that it is difficult to identify because of its very tiny components. As I observed, the trouble code is not just only concentrated on "3200" but also others like as I encountered yesterday, the code is 3500 & F000 in two different machines for the same board complain... For factory claim, it is required to take note the serial number plus those numbers written on the main PWB like *KG500132359*2K30102 / 00:C0:EE:81:B0:44 .... In my area, there are still 3 units on queue's for board replacement while we already replaced many and maybe many more to come very soon because we deployed many units in the market...

We didn't put many of these out, quite glad of that now tbh.

We have the one board with this fault and it is out of warranty but we have sorted the customer out, was just curious to see if there was anything we could do.

In this case, the machine wasn't producing an error code at all... printouts are fine but copying either through the document feeder or the glass just results in completely black pages. It was replacing the board that fixed the problem.

This all sounded so familiar when I started reading this thread....this is a very very very common problem on the 205/255/305 series...so I'm guessing it's pretty much the same machine...I think I've replaced every board in every machine we have out there...a few of them twice....I hate these machines....

Yeah pretty much the same boxes I think, we found the toner consumption on the colour version of these things to be pretty terrible as well although I think that was maybe addressed in one of the firmware upgrades, all round crap as far as I'm concerned although someone with a few more machines out may be able to say otherwise.

also the lack of screws makes a mockery of my tool case
