    [Misc] Scanner File Utility

Has anyone tried connecting Scanner File Utility with Windows 7? I used to have it connected and now I have connection issues when trying to connect.
I have reloaded the utility with different versions and each one has a different set of issues on my pc and all will not allow the machine to locate the pc.
I configured the firewall and checked the compatability modes, with no success... Anyone have a solution? Please help.

I have installed it "run as Administrator", also in compatability mode XP- Service pack3.
I have created exceptions in my firewall and anti-virus. I have disabled my firewall and anti-virus.
I have others with windows7 1-32bit, 1-64bit. They used to connect and now cannot. I can connect to a PC with XP every time.
updated the scanner NIC Firmware to 1.4.11
Tried Scanner File Utility versions 3.16.9,03.17.11,4.11.02
Found that the utility is listening on port 37000.
I switched to different compatability modes. Beating my head!

Have you shared the folder? With full permissions? I think that is your problem..It usually is needed for scan to SMB or similar but you never know for sure.so to be on a safe side..I'd make sure to get it all rolling on NO FIREWALL AND FULL PERMITED folder no anti-virus..(temporarily disabled)..then ADD what ever

While you're at it, check your DNS settings, if you dont have DNS settings on the Computer and are using Computer Names, you might have issues getting to the PCs

Hi, here is the problem. If its a norton antivirus you have, you have your problem right there. To bypass it, you have to create exception for norton antivirus, giving it the application name Scanner File Utility, or allow the location of the file, its normally
                  "C:\Program Files\Kyocera\FileUtility\NsCatCom.exe"

For windows 7, you can go to Windows firewall and make the exception. Also make sure the serial number on the scan file utility and in the address book in your machine is same.

One more thing, if the windows 7 PC has multiple user account on that computer, you must enter the username and password on the username password field for the Address Contact book.

You have to enable file and print sharing in the Windows firewall. Also make sure it is enable for the correct type of network (Home, Work, or Pulic).

Also 4.11 is the version recommended for windows 7, 3.27 is recommended for XP.
