    [Jamming] FS-C2126MFD Document Feeder Jam on New Machine

    :: Fault FS-C2126MFD Document Feeder Jambing ::

    Does any one else have a problem with the Document Feeder Jambing (ADF) on a brand new FS-C2126MFD ?

    We get a brand new machine out of the box, and within 3-4 weeks the machine reports an error code Jam 9000 on the display.

    Does any one have the lastest mod bulletin or recommended fix ?

    I have been given an unoffical modification from Kyocera Australia but the information to hand is incomplete. I found I had to extend their
    recommendations further in fixing this particular fault...

    Any ideas welcome...

    Hi, there is a bulletin to update the firmware for this jam code. I did have one that was persistent even after F/W update, over 70 J9000.
    I stripped out the doc feed roller shaft and found it black with grease/oil on the oneway bearing. I cleaned the bearing and the shaft and took off the tension springs and cleaned any form of grease. these are the 2 springs one at the rear of the shaft and one under the roller housing and then ran over 600 scan's without fail. No recall for this in over 3 month's.

    Hope this helps

      Thanks Madas....

      I found the same near identical fix to this problem. I did not do the firmware though as I figured the machines where new enough.

      :: Unoffical modifications ::

      I removed the tension spring from the pickup shaft at back of the ADF as the Magnetic clutch was unbelievably hot. So hot that you cannot hold it in your hand. This proved to me that the tension spring drag on the pickup roller shaft as was far too great. As a magnetic field gets hot it loses its attraction --thus you have pick up problems after multiple sheets.
      I did not remove the forward tension spring near the pickup roller. I lubed this tension spring with liquilon grease, to reduce the drag effect. I may look at removing the forward pickup roller tension spring in the future.

      I also lubed the registration idler(white) rollers as I found the push spring tension on this shaft is also to great.
      The registration idler rollers where acting like a brake as the paper feed; causing a lateral buckle across the orginal an not the normal longitude buckle. This further caused the registration sensor actuator arm to be missed completly. I may clip one coil off each of these springs in the future. I will see how these mods go firstly.

      I further placed a plastic 'E' Clip on the pickup roller shaft to push the pickup roller arbor closer to the oneway gear teeth.

      I also lubed the gears and idler shafts on the front side of the ADF to assist in the new machine running freely and bedding in.

      These modifcation are working so far.... Touch wood....

        For those following this thread I have an update to add to the problems associated with the ADF jambs.

        I'm currently testing additional modifications to reduce jambs associated with the lateral paper buckle fault.
        I will post these findings in a month or so after we have verified our results.
