    General Scan to Email Problem.

    Hi

I have a client they have quite a few Kyocera Machines (TaskAlfa 3500, TaskAlfa 3050ci, TaskAlfa 420i, KM-2560, FS-1128 MFP) and all of the machines give the same problem. The machines are all on the network and have the necessary rights on the network. The client uses scan to E-mail to scan their documents.

When you scan something all the machines gives error code 2202, but when they open the e-mail the document was sent.

We have no idea what the problem could be, we've checked all the settings on all of the machines and all of then are still correct. The scanning worked 100% for a year and started doing this about 2 weeks ago.

    Can anyone help me please.

    Thanks in advance

They all started doing it recently? I'd check the time on the email server, also check the time on the machines.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

If the time doesn't solve your issue, let us know what sort of mail server that you customer is using. I have a few pointers if they are using Exchange.

          Hi

I've checked the time on the server and they correspond with the time on the MFP's.

The client is using an exchange server with a MIME Cast, but they have relay's so that the machines does not
go through the MIME Cast. The client's exchange server is in another town.

          Thanx in advance

            What version of Exchange?

            2003?

            2007?

            2010?

Change in the domain name or DNS?

I had that happen at a large account a few years ago; all Canon machines at the time. IT blamed us, but, as usual, never told us that they made a few changes.

Just as a test, try the IP address in the SMTP settings instead of the server name.

Make sure mail server name and port are correct. Most 2202 errors are from bad DNS setting. Try using 8.8.8.8 (Google) for DNS instead of customers DNS.
