FS9530 - reset maintanance kit display

First post in this section, hello there

I'm actually asking in behalf for a work mate who is interested to know if it's possible to reset the "maintanance kit" display on this machine. He has not much experience on these in the field and got the information that it's neccessary to replace all PM parts as a kit. that's not a problem but he already installed some units (e.g. fuser) due to defects before the PM cycle and the machine is up and running. Unfortunately the maintanance call does disturb the user so the question is how to reset it or - even better - how to re-adjust it so he can set a new value depending on the expected/remaining lifetime of the already installed units.

    Thanks!

I just found this a few threads below:

    http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ky...-mk-reset.html

I think this printer is a previous model so is this instruction valid for the 9530/recent models as well?

9500 and 9520 are different and will not work on the 9530. The unit must be unplugged from the power source, then the full maintence kit must be installed, and after the DV is set from the service setting the replace MK will be gone. There are codes to reset the maintance counts but I was told only factory System Support Engineers and others at the manufacturer have these codes. They are closely guarded since the units are still in production. Not sure this helps.

Yap that was told us, too (installing a complete kit). Seems Kyocrea does a better job keeping factory knowlede enclosed (even if I don't beliebe that this is not half-way common knowledge among kyo techs). But on the other hand I understand if people are suspicious if newbies comes along - I don't act really different in the ricoh forum here, feel free to check my postings. If someone is willing to share or trade some insights (I can provide knowledge for ricoh machines) - just leave me a personal message (if you are an established user with some posts on the clock). I'm not someone having a problem to return a favour.

I also tried to check the old units and it seems that there's some kind of diode at a little PCB at the DV unit that blows off (kind of infinite ohm no matter of the polarity). It would be a simple workaround if that'S just the trick but I need a new kit in order to compare the parts properly. I'll get back to it if we need to order it for the customer next time.

On the 9530, the full kit must be installed. Afterwards, go to the service setting and select new Dev. Then the machine will ask you to turn it off and on. Maintenance Kit will disappear and will now state Ready.
