Problem adding contacts to Kyocera CS 420i

I have set this scanner/printer up before and did not have this problem. I am doing this remotely and am not on the clients site.

I added a new user to contacts under basic to allow the scan to pc function. Contact information is setup and the Kyocera Scan software is installed and configured. When the user goes to the scanner the address listing for her is grayed out and the name file is blank. I tried adding this several times and each time the same. I had the user power cycle the printer and still the entry is grayed out.

I have 27 entries, this user is 27. She also advised there are other entries in the contact list that are also grayed out.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    thanks,
    Joe.

Does the unit have job accounting turned on? If it does the user may not have access to the scanner because it is restricted in job accounting.

Don't know if this will help your situation, but I had one recently on a 5550ci immediately after upgrading firmware. Any contacts added via the Command Center would not work. Entering the exact configuration from the Op Panel was successful.

Thanks Sudsy, I contacted the client to see if they have a service contact with someone, in the mean time I instructed their support person to manually enter the user from the display panel. If anyone has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated since I know it will be less aggravation then having to walk the user through adding a new user each time.

          Thanks again,
          Joe

It sounds like you have all of the information necessary to set up their PC destinations. If you have a 420i series device in your office, you could set up the address book as if you were setting it up for the customer, then use U917 to export it to a flash drive. If their support person is fairly savvy, you could email the files to them, and instruct them on how to use a flash drive and U917 to import those addresses you set up. The downside to that is you would have to set up the address book exactly as the customer needed it. If they have emails and fax destinations, you would have to set all those up on your end as well, before exporting via 917.

If using the scan file utility then you must scan to FTP on that model

Is your client looking at One Touch buttons and confusing that for the address book?
