no scanner software required for network scanning( smb or email), once you install mfp on network simply log in to the command centre via ip address. For scan to email , setup the smpt server under the advanced tab in command centre. For scan to smb , go to the basic tab-> address book-> contacts-> add contact-> and fill in the smb field, just create a shared folder on the host pc.
