    TA 205c with 0509 jams

We've got a TA205c that's jamming randomly from the MP tray. The jam code comes up before the next sheet has even been fed through the system.

It turns out there is no clutch controling the MP tray like in other models. Very odd configuration. Talked with Kyocera about it and everything seems to point to the solenoid in the drive pack. With these models you can't just replace small parts you have to replace the whole drive pack.

Has anyone else seen this on these models and if so what did you do?

Wondering if you came up with a fix for this? I have a 255c that is a new install and having problems only from the MP tray. It will feed 4-6 pages duplexed just fine then the registration will fall down the page from .5 inch to up to 1.5 inches- on page 2 which is the first page printed. Side 1 is always on, no reg shift. Otherwise a J4109 if any more than that. I saw the motor/clutch/gear pack you were talking about but all seems well in there as well as the feed roller and sep pad are new out of the box. Tech support didn't have any case's at this time to reference.

    Thanks for any input!

Correction: The image was actually up the page (biggest shift was 3.5 inches). It was late in the afternoon and I was using my letter size test chart for legal copies so I didn't catch that until I went back the next day and really watched it.

Firmware was at SP 5, I upgraded to 6. Swapped FT and sep pad and the entire feed motor/clutch/gear pack. No change. Swapped the entire right side door (Paper Conveying Section) and the problem went away. The problem then moved to the office so I am ordering the conveying sensor (p/n: 3H327410) because there isn't anything else in there. This is the 3rd sensor of this style has failed on me lately, other 2 have been in finishers. Maybe a bad batch.
