Kycoera TASKALFA 250ci (UTAX CDC1725) colour [percentage information

    Hi all

I have a customer with a UTAX CDC 1725 which I believe is a Kyocera TASKALFA 250 ci equivalent.

They currently are on a maintenance contract with another company and they say that they are charged by the percentage of colour on a page for colour usage as opposed to a single cost for colour and one for mono.

They also say that the supplier connects to the copier remotely to get these values. . . .

Can anyone confirm this is possible as I haven't seen this before?

They are interested in us taking over the contract so I will need to know how to find these values.

    Thanks all!

I know this is possible but I have never set one up. I have also herd that is can be a nightmare with billy as with arguments about which price you set for different bands of coverage. I know it works by setting up 3 levels of coverage (ie. level 1 = 0% >15%, level 2 = 15% > 50%, level 3 = >50% ??). for each colour.

Not something we current offer so I have just ignored it on training courses.

yes it is very possible, we do monitor all of our customers with a DCA (data collection agent) it gets loaded on the server and sends reports ever day on toner levels, pages printed, any errors etc.! the three color tier system is great for people that use very little color so they can get there costs down.. and its good for the dealer on customers that run full page pictures because we can recoup some of the toner cost by charging more for high color usage. the only way you can get the information they are getting is by running the maintenance report at the machine.
