Kyocera FS1128

Have two 1128's, two separate locations. Both approx. 14 months in the field. One with 30K and one with 15K. Both have OEM toner. Copies are very light.


Have replaced primary xfer roller no change.


U113...turned on drum refresh, however can not for the life of me find how to initiate the drum refresh process????


Any help on light copies and/or simply initiating drum refresh would be greatly appreciated.

Drum refresh is a move of desperation as it does absolutely nothing. But for your edification, you enable first, then reboot the machine. Same goes for new developer.

If you're not familiar with this model, a common operator error is to not lock the toner cartridge in place. The cover will close and all looks OK but without the blue lock pushed back, you're not adding toner.

The other thing to do is replace the developer unit.

We also have tried the 113 on two 1128's.
Neither one would do the drum refresh; so ; silly me.....I called KDA and timidly asked them how to perform the 113.
I did not expect the answer I got . According to a tech at KDA, the drum refresh feature is not available on the U S models.
It is just there in the menu....as JR2ALTA so aptly stated : " Drum refresh is a move of desperation as it does absolutely nothing."
Have fun with this one guys / gals ............ get your 'techs in training' to try this operation and see how long it takes them to ask for clarification or assistance.
