    [Electrical] KM-1815 C0220 Engine Board

    HI,

I have this KM-1815 that gave me the code C0220 every 10 minutes.
I try with code failure reset and the machine came back with the code time after time.
Some information said that I need to replace the main board.
I have the part number from KM-1820 parts list.
KM-1820 part number is 302GM01410 as part list KM-1820.

Is the KM-1820 engine board the same as KM-1815?
I need to reload the firmware after Board replacement?
Is this the appropriate fix for this code?

Thanks in advance for your help.

No, they're not the same. KM-1815 main board is 2DD68030. KM-1820 is 302GM01380. The number you listed, 302GM01410, is the KM-1820 Engine board. The KM-1815 Engine Board is 2DD68040.

Manual says C0220 could be Main or Operation PWB. From experience, it could also be the chips on the main or engine PWB's. When you order a board, it doesn't come with the chips, so it's probably a good idea to reload firmware after swapping chips over. It's available on the dealer website under legacy machines.

Best to check whats stores on the memory when you replace the board, my advice would be to buy some memory and dimms also as these could be affected thus causing problems.

besides replacing the board what other solutions does the service manual say about this code that might save replacing costly boards....

would the price of a new board not warrant the cost of a new machine hence putting a few quid in your pocket for comitition?
