    TA 3500i - Jam 4411

    Hi,

This is a brand-new machine and jams only when duplexing more than 4 copies, which means when the switch back unit is involved. Inspected the switch back unit and the duplex unit but could not find anything wrong. Any ideas, please?

    Thanks in advance!

I have a similar issue with a 6500i. Duplexed prints/copies jam for no apparent reason even after swapping out switchback and exit sections. I'll be interested to see how this thread turns out...

Check the inverter gate to see if it moves freely. If not, install a shim (washer) under the solenoid which actuates the gate. This seems to help.

Had a brand-new machine with finisher. The machine would jamb everywhere at the exit and finisher.

Updated the firmware and the problem was solved...

Have seen the upper duplex clutch fail and cause paper to stop in duplex just about to reg roller.

I ordered the ADU Clutch 2 on the bottom, 50 Z35R. Will let you know.

              Thanks!

Im currently stuck on this issue with a TA 3550ci. I spent all Friday ripping apart the switchable output. Tech support was no help. Had me chasing down a sensor that had nothing to do with it. Im heading back Monday morning with the DSU2 switch and front sub board that the switchable plugs into.

                FML. Any resolution?

The resolution was adding a spring to the solenoid arm for the switch back so it does not close the guide all the way when the solenoid is activated.

just update the machine to the latest version and change the complete conveying section (right door unit), adjust the values in sim 052 and the problem should be solved.

What we have found so far is to replace the photo interrupters and clutches to fix the jamming

its more to do with clutches than anything else.Once had the same issue with a brand new taskalfa 3501i that had latest firmware and that modification pad on the duplex roller, with the so called latest clutch (improved one) but still gave paper jams in duplex copying, and all it was , a bad clutch.
failure is not an option !

as i said, rhe resolution was adding a spring to the solenoid, not the clutches and no need to replace the entire switch-back unit. The solenoids traditionally have a spring, in this model it does not and it goes all way in thus closing the guide completely and stopping the paper, hence the jam. Adjusting the solenoid gap has solved the problem in 3 cases so far and hope it will work for you too.
                          Good luck!

Check clutch CLUTCH 50 Z35R 302KV44041 (becomes rusti)

                            Mount PAD DU 302K924930

                            Then it should be OK
