Just swopped out a brand new FS-1135 at a client because it kept on showing error c3100.
Turns out the other machine have exactly the same problem. Only then did i notice that there are 7 other devices running off one power source.
Put machine on another plug point and working fine now.

Make sure the scanner bar is not locked.
