    Fs-2020 paper size error

    First Merry Christmas
    I have an fs-2020 that intermittantly jams at the reg roller. The display says paper size error, I have to turn the machine off to reset the jam. I replaced the tray tires and all three clutches. Any ideas?

      Did you check the paper size switch ? Check the Registration Roller actuator to be sure it is not binding .
      Check the printer settings for paper type and size as well.
      You could also check to see what data is actually being sent to this printer; ex. are they sending a letter size doc with letter size paper in the cassette?
      Are these jams occuring with plain paper or with a different media?

          HenryT2, yes to all. We brought the machine in the shop because the problem is so intermittant. I have been printing manuals from my pc and getting the same problem as at the account. As for the paper size switch, I have found that when it jams and the jam is cleared I have to turn the machine off or change the tray size selector to a different size and back to get the machine to reset. he printer does have about 800k on it. The reg. switch seems fine.

              AHA !!!! 800 K !!!
              We have seen this before on that high of a count ( we have some 3900's - 4020's with a mil and a half ) ...

              REPLACE the registration roller actuator and spring ...

              That actuator can get worn down at that high of a count ...
