[Error Code] KM 2050 'Cannot connect to destintion PC' error

I have set up my KM-2050 as a network printer and scanner and the printer works fine but every time i try to use the scanner it says it cannot connect to the pc. I have checked and double checked my IP, DNS, there isn't a WINS but i dont know if that is necessary in my scanner setting online. I don't know what else to do!! Could someone please help explain in simple steps how to set up the scanner because the instructions really confuse me, espcially since im not too good with technology. thank you!

check the destination pc address, if the customer using DHCP ,the IP will change frequently.so use the pc name .you can get the scanner manual from Kyocera website.... al the best

KM2050 should work with Kyocera Scanner File Utility set up in the destination pc. Check if it is correctly configured and add it to startup programs.

KM2050 right? You do have two network cables connected to this copier, as this copier rerquires a separate scanner connection so you will have two IP addresses as well, one for printing and one for scanning. They cannot be the same. This copier comes standard with network printing, but network scanning is an option which requires a scanner kit.

If you have Scanner File Utility installed and set up correctly as mentioned...

If you have 2 separate ethernet cables running to machine as mentioned.. (1 for printing & 1 for scanning)

Then I would also ensure that you Scanner File Utlity "running".. If it is "stopped", then it will not connect.. Also, if it is currently running, stop it and restart it again.. (I actually had to stop typing this reply so as to remote into a customer who was not connecting to their P.C.. After checking all configurations were set correctly, I stopped it from running and restarted it again.. Different machine but same type of set-up..)

If all of that is in order, you may want to try upgrading the firmware on your scanner NIC.. Have seen in years past, where machines did not want to connect intermittently and upgrading the firmware helped.
