[Jamming] kyocera FS-C5300 KEEP ASK TO ADD PAPER IN THE CASSETE

Hello, have anyone seen this printer keep ask to put paper in the tray? It has only one tray, when turn on the machine the paper rise up no problem and make copies fine. But if I pull out the tray to get couple paper out and close it back in. Then, the paper wouldn't rise up anymore. It works if I turn off the main power to reset it. The lift drive motor had been replaced and doing the same thing. Any suggestion? Firmware is latest. Thanks so much.

I assume this problem gives no error codes?

It sounds like the machine just doesn't know that you are pushing the tray in all the time, however I don't see a switch in the manual that detects the presence of the tray. I would definitely make sure to clean/test all paper sensors thoroughly and that all connectors for the sensors and lift motor are fully connected with no pinched wires.

It is fishy that it always works when you reboot though. That tells me there could be a board/firmware issue.
    Best rule for troubleshooting.

Hi, the switches are on the front left where the tray goes in.
There is a paper sensor arm a little way in to the slot that is spring loaded. make sure that is not sticking and moves freely.
I have had on other models with similar setup where this arm gets wedged on the paper and so does not fold back
and so does not detect paper present.
The paper lift sensor is the feed roller assy so if the paper stops lifting then that appears to be working.

i had a fsc2026 with the spring above the pickup/feed assy missing causing all sorts of weird cassette lift, intermittent jamming and delays between copies

The machine finally fixed by the engine PCB, I repl. this board because I found the front left side switch and the lift motor both connecting to the engine board. One in a while that the board does causes the problems, just want to let every know. Thanks for all your input gentlemen. We always learn something new everyday.
