Can anybody tell me if there is a switch that needs to activated when updating a firmware on the TA 250ci machine. For the KM machines, we change the settings on the little switch that is under the control panel, but I can't seem to find any switch similar to that on the TA 250ci machine. Has anybody successfully updated the firmware for this machine??....I have not yet experienced updating a firmware successfully, so any information would be really help full.

Re: Task Alfa 250ci
Updating firmware is done with an USB-Stick. Copy all the files to the root of the stick. Place the stick and switch the machine on. If you copied the correct firmware files to the stick, the updating process starts automatically. There's no need to use a switch for a firmware update.
If it still doesn't work, use another stick. Some sticks don't make good contact with the machine. -
Re: Task Alfa 250ci
When I plug in the memory stick with the firmware, and switch the machine on, the screen read welcome and stay at that. But when the memory stick is removed and the machine turned on, the machine goes to and error code C9530 which is not in the service manual that I have. I was told by a tech in Australia that I had to update the firmware, so when the machine is turned on and the screen is reading "welcome", is the firmware being updated at that time??..The secrete of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly and lie about your age..... Re: Task Alfa 250ci
Perform the upgrade
Insert the power plug and turn the main power switch on. Upgrading firmware starts. (For batch upgrading, 30
minutes are required at the maximum.)
100% Completed is displayed on the touch panel when upgrading is complete.
If a problem occurs during upgrade, error code is displayed. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Re: Task Alfa 250ci
I have also noticed that (some) usb sticks that are over 2gb wont work at all, no matter the format. We had a ta250ci do that same issue. A new tech said that it wouldnt load and he pulled the stick out and after that it would not pass the welcome screen. Although that is a bad thing we just followed the flow chart provided by Kyocera and loaded firmware and it worked out just fine. If I can locate the chart I will upload it.Comment

Re: Task Alfa 250ci
Thanks for the feedback guys. I will try that out. I had inserted the usb with the firmware in a folder, and the machine only read "welcome". The machine does not go to the error code anymore, it just stays at "welcome", but I will give it a try with all the advise that you have just given me..

Re: Task Alfa 250ci
Try updating firmware with a compact flash card instead of a USB stick... I have several 250/300/400/500ci machine's out in the field and have never been able to update firmware on any of them with a USB stick... There is a compact flash card port in the back of the machine just to the right of the hard drive.Comment
