    KM-3040 pausing during duplex copies

    I have a KM-3040 that prints the first 7-8 duplex prints just fine, but after that, pauses during each copy. It just stops and acts like it is "thinking". No error messages. Sometimes it resumes after just a few seconds, other times it takes a minute or two. There is no optional hard drive, print system, fax. Just a key counter - could the key counter be the problem, or do we have a RAM issue, or just something I'm not thinking of?

    BTW - copying just one page, duplex.

      Have you updated firmware? What emulation are you using on the printer and print driver?

          Firmware up to date and these are copies, not prints. There is no print system on this machine.

              Raise the Fixing Temps back to Factory Settings, someone lowered them. I only know because I've had this same problem after lowering the fuser temps on this engine.

                  You are probably dead on - I lowered the fixing temperature the last time I was there. Thanks for getting me on the right track!
