I have a customer with a Copystar CS 2560 Copier. I got a used fax card to install which was a functioning card out of another machine. When I install it the machine gives me an error C0070. Will a system software upgrade on the copier solve this problem? Thanks in advance...

go into the srv mode. go to U600 and initialize. Some times 600 isn't available. But there will be a 600 series mode available. I don't remember the exact U mode, but it will allow you to clear the previous registration from the 1st machine. The choices will be clr rom, clr backup, restore backup ect. Also there can be a firmware conflict. There were 2 different fax cards that went in the 300ci series, S and V. Some of the s cards were updated to be V and required current firmware to work. -

Found some more info. This are the steps another tech took to resolve 0070 code.Finally got both machines up and running with the fax option. Took me these steps to get it to boot up with no C-codes.
Ver. 2.20d1 and fax sys M(M2) gave a C-0070 code. Firmware 2.42 needed for latest fax system M(M2).
Ver. 2.42 and fax sys M(M2) gave a C-FB30 code that could not be cleared with or without the fax system installed.
Ver. 2.20d1 and no fax system installed got me to a ready to copy screen.

Turn off machine and install fax sys M(M2) machine came up ready to copy with fax option.
When I had the fax system installed and updated the firmware to 2.42 I would get an error on completion of firmware install under the fax option. Then the C-FB30 code.Comment
