Copystar CS5050 security risks for hacking into Hdd when connected to network or Fax?

Can a would be hacker get into a CS-5050 with the fax option or connected to a network??? This was asked from my customer, a law firm who has a high level hacker as an opponent with experience going through the fax and retrieving classified documents. What type of solution would prevent this?

Here is another article on other security risks. We all know the Hdd disposal when companies are at end of use is esssential.

You have to get threw the network before getting to the copier. I always advise customers to seek the help of a good IT company to lock down there network and secure it.

I do not believe that you can actually access the HDD unless you actually remove the HDD from the machine and plug into a computer etc, or if you store documents on there via scan to box or some type. I don't know about fax hacking though. Phone systems were being hacked long before computer systems, and the two often went hand in hand so anything is possible.
