    Help with the CS 5050 hard drive

    I keep getting C0640 error. Can I use any IDE 40 gb Hard drive or does it have be kyocera?

    Ttry formatting in your laptop if you have the adapter for it, if not a new hdd. I never used Kyocera hdd and they worked every time.

      Thanks for your help. It is always a refresh to have such knowledgeable techs available to help in time of need.


      Please advise me to the specs of the hard drive if you have it. e.g. the hard drive size: 3.5"? $0 GB? IDE? RPMs?

        i used bigger than 40 gig hdd as i could not get the 40 gig from a shop. Get the smallest you can 5400 or 7200 rpm wont matter as long as it physically fits should be fine. After replacing make sure you format it.Have you tried formatting the old one in the copier?

          Yes formatted but decided to replace it because I did not know how long it would last. Thanks!!
